For the first time in my life I have my very own chickens. My parents have had them all of my life but now I am settled enough to have 8 of my own. Right now they are living in a box in my laundry room and hoping to have a house of there own soon. We are looking forward to collecting brown eggs from our 4 buff orpingtons and green eggs from the 4 ameracaunas. We have along time before our first egg. The buffs are 3 weeks old and the ameracuanas are 1 week. My children are very excited about the chicks and have said they like having pets. I have been "lurking" on this board for about 3 months but now that we actually have the birds I decided to join.
