A girl in the nest box

I installed the nest boxes yesterday and put a couple of golf balls in each. This morning one of our Amber links was in the nest box when I went to let them out. I'm thinking they are getting close to laying, or at least getting the idea.

That's exciting! Mine are close to laying, too - but I haven't seen any of them even looking at the nest boxes.

I too had one of my younger hens in the nest box yesterday.. hoping she is trying it out and she will start to lay soon.. I bought her as a "teenchick" pullet so don't know her official age.
