A great white pest

Darn bird has been hanging around for a few days. Flies up on top of the shed scaring the daylights out of the chickens and ducks.
Fun to see close up but hope it moves on soon.

It might be trying to figure out how to check out the duck's pond. The netting is preventing it. That's my only guess. LOL... But the lake is right there!

Egret? We have a resident blue heron, though the chickens are used to seeing it and don't react.

Yes. My girls don't bat an eye with the buzzards but there's been lots of hollering when the egret flies over.

Well it is pretty dramatic when they fly in (we've had a few egrets too, hanging out on the roof of the house). Hopefully it'll move on, or at least the chickens will gradually get used to it.

It does look like a Snowy Egret and I'd be willing to bet that it is casing your pond.
