I forgot to mention that my friend reported seeing chick get stuck under the plastic container I put the food out in. It's one of those plastic containers lunchmeat comes in - clear. I guess it got flipped over on top of him. Apparently it was under there but walking around so the whole thing moved with it. But it got out of there on it's own.
That is so sweet and Im glad you got the baby and the toad out. I did something like that before with a toad, my neighbor helped too. It was during the summer (when the snakes are out) and theres a hole in front of our house only about 2 foot deep, and I saw the FATTEST toad I have ever seen in the hole but I didnt want to stick my hand down there in case there was a snake or something down there. So im sitting there bent over with sticks, some wire and whatever else I could find trying to get him out when my neighbors walks up and just sticks his hand down there and gets him out.

That was great! you did it! I loved the way you told the story too and all the pictures! Once as a child I convinced my friend's dad to save what turned out to be a rat caugt a gutter pipe. We thought it was a bird, maybe we should have listened for some peeping or chirping to clue us it was not a bird. But I was still glad we saved the rat, even a rat is one of God's creatures.
