I know the feeling. I made a list this morning of what must be done before winter arrives. It's too long. 😨
I know. I thought I was doing really well. Then on the plane I made a list and it was a bit scary.

Honk honk
As it is Pony Sunday I am going to ask if one of these is a goose in disguise. Really I just think it is a cute video.
I love this. They are growing up on you. I also have several geese in disguise at the moment.

Has Mr. Chips attempted his first crow yet? You are in for both a treat, and a shock when he does and will have the camera's to catch it.

He will literally sound like someone is trying to strangle him when he lets that first one loose. He will sound so pitiful and probably scare the girls when it happens. Now he may figure it all out and have a nice crow in a few days, or he could take a week or longer sounding like he is dying but he will get there.

Homer, bless him, he has been going at it for over a week now, in the mornings. He still has a frog in his throat. I have yet to catch either Juice or Q attempting a crow yet.

Personality wise, Homer sounds very similar to Whiskey (and the 2 boys who went with the pullets: right there learning everything from the adults). I love hearing about the young cockerels learning to be smart!
Both boys are well on their way with their educations. Homer is about a week and a half older then Juice and it shows. It also shows in how their momma's went about with allowing early interactions with their chicks. Goose let me handle Homer from day 1. Gryffyn, well, Gryffyn was a very much hands off momma and I respected that. I had noticed Homer taking a interest in George's rooster doings about the time I lost him. Juice was still too young and very much glued to his momma's side to pay attention to his daddy. When poor Goose was taken I am glad I fostered him in with the silkie grow-outs. He could have stayed with the big chickens, he would have been fine. But he learned so much from Davy and Barbosa when I integrated the grow outs in with the adults. Davy and Barbosa took to those chicks just like Branch would have. They protected them from harassment from the adult girls and Homer started shadowing them which they tolerated. Juice unfortunately has not had a older rooster to shadow so he is getting his education in the hard way. Learning from older no nonsense hens is much tougher on the boys then a senior rooster. It is time though for them to be together. I want them to pair up while they are still young enough to bond with each other and learn to work together. I would have done it this weekend but Eggy came along. Eggy has really taken to Homer and he to her. It will be good for the two of them to bond before I introduce them to the other big girls. I think Homer will act as a buffer between Raven and Mrs. E. Raven is top hen and will be ruthless with them both and Mrs. E has become her second in command.

You are doing great and seem very calm to me. I am sure I will be in a big dither as Mr. Chips starts causing trouble.

Well I think both of you are amazing, my first cockerel was a terror! He attacked everyone, and although he was gorgeous, he was so big he would squash the poor Silkies, we had to rehome him.

I was in a complete panic getting Mr P, but I really did luck out with him (thanks Bob for enabling me šŸ˜‰).

It’s my feelin that the two of you will both end up with really lovely Roos, just take it one day at a time and let him grow up.
