A hen? Egg song.

Thanks Aart, I am far from an expert but it looked pretty obvious to me that they are pullets. That was a great article. One of the girls is being very vocal and "squatting" so she must be close. Little grey girl just likes the hen song :D

Those both look like pullets, looking at the saddle feathers.
Could be soon for eggs, pullets can get noisy as hell as the time approaches.

Thanks...and you're right, sometimes it's a bit of a quior lol. The Araucana isn't "squatting" yet but the other girl has been for a few days now. Fingers crossed we will get some eggs in the next week or 2.

As others have said, they both look like hens to me. Speaking of the egg song, whenever one of my hens start singing it the rooster starts doing it too.(though it does sound slightly different.) And then at least one other hen will get excited and start squawkin.
