A hen with Spears????

they could all be different, not every hen is the same, my two welsummers looked nothing a like you would think they were different breeds

It certainly could be the lighting in your picture, so I could be wrong about her not being a pure Wellie. Her egg color will be the clue.

I had two of them. One laid an extremely speckled egg and the other laid the egg I posted above. I sold them eventually when I was downsizing so don't own them anymore. They were pretty good layers, no trouble in the flock, though not much personality.
