A Homegrown Thanksgiving Bird

I always get a frozen turkey from work too but this year we'll give it away and try our own. In fact, I have two turkeys in the freezer right now that I need to give away from years past.

Jared, I urge you if you are going to give away those frozen birds, please take them to your local Food Bank/ Food Pantry charity so another family can have a wonderful holiday meal too.

I will probably do that this year. Usually I just donate it to DW's or my own family's Thanksgiving or Christmas meals but this year everyone on both sides of the family have been taken care of with homegrown birds so the food bank idea is a great option.

This was my first year raising turkey !

I processed 3 in one day with 3 roosters (processing the chickens compared to the turkeys was like doing chicken nuggets)

They were so big I had to put in freezer of our local coffee house!
It was not going in my side by side!!

We will be having store bought bird with the family this year. But will have chicken, turkey and rabbit for the day after thanksgiving and for christmas:D
