>~* A Howl At Midnight>~* A FORGOTTEN DOGS ROLEPLAY!

Squirrelflight let the black Shedog lean on her."Ok, There is a nest ready back at camp."

Raksha tried to walk a straight line, but that didn't really work, so she leaned on Squirrelflight to keep herself straight. "Yeah," she woofed distantly.

Flame set Birch down, dipping her head to Hawk.

~

Birch suddenly gasped as she was put down. Her lungs filled with air and her eye's shot open, wide with terror and her breath heavy."S-...Flight...She....Is she...." The she-dog sputtered, Her head spinning.

~

Flame put her paws on the Alpha's shoulders, holding she Shedog still in case she decided to panic."It's ok, Birch! Everything's ok...Squrrielflight and Hollyshadow are safe." She murmured.

Clawpup raced forward to the shoreline, his long tail wagging "They`re back! They`re back!" He howled. He looked at his sisters, a large smile on his face.
~~~
Lilypup hopped up beside her brother. Night and Lake were coming back. They had to be. She turned to Snappup "Finally." she groaned.
~~~
Silverpup more slowly made her way down the rocks, though her tail did wag as she caught sight of her packtor Raksha.
~~~
Dark scrambled onto shore, dragging with her a unconscious Rain.
~~~
Night paddled in the water, dreading telling Snappup, Lilypup and Clawpup of Lake`s death. Especially Lilypup, of the three, she had been the closest to Lake.

(For the same reason there's a parody thread - but CG was already pretty established in the (mostly) serious part of AHAM, so he stayed. :gig

(River)
Raksha slid up out of the water, her black pelt reflecting the moonlight in an almost mirror-like glow. She shivered madly, her steps stiff as she crawled up the bank. A quiet groan escaped her, but she said nothing. She had been through worse, and she knew it.

~

Cave paced anxiously on the edge of the beach, waiting impatiently for the rest of the pack to get across. She glanced towards the direction of camp; the direction of her warm nest, of food, shelter from this driving, winter wind. In this moment's distraction, she misplaced her delicate paw, stabbing her pad on a small, wickedly pointed thorn. "Ouch," she snapped to herself, casting her gaze back towards her pack.
Hawk was in a daze,
Raksha shook as if the whole Earth was quaking,
Birch was on the verge of panic...

She had no reason to fuss over a simple thorn.

~

Starpup sat in a small hollow between the roots of an ancient oak, watching silently as her packmates - her saviors - tried to pull themselves together. She pleaded with Sirius to let them all emerge from the river, her heart aching with an unspoken love for these dogs.

Yet, to her dismay, many remained unaccounted for.

Birch snapped her eyes open, wider then ever. She glanced behind her, and saw Flame. Her gaze only reliaxed slightly, and she scrambled to sit up, her lungs heaving as she drew in air, her breath ragged with pain."Where's Ash...And...." She dog looked around, her head dizzy as she struggled to remain consciousness."R-Rashka." She called out the the shivering Shedog."Are....Are y-you ok?" The white Shedog was shivering as she leaned against Flame.

~

Flame easily supported her half-sister's weight, Making sure to keep the Alpha stable.

Condor smiled at Jade, but it wasn't true. She felt uneasy with all the events happening around her.
~

Flash climbed up on the bank and shook the water out of his fur.

... River :p

Raksha turned to face Birch, her stiff muscles protesting to any and all movement. She stepped closer before she spoke, so she didn't have to project her voice any louder than she had to.
"I'm probably not," she murmured, her teeth clattering, "but let's just say that I am."

Jade, unknowing of this, felt the same way.

"Y-You need to see B-breeze." Birch chattered, her pelt shaking.

Sherman thought about kicking Manny's retired butt

Jade caught herself off guard. "I feel bad for all those who's family were killed." She sighed.

Raksha snorted. "Look who's talking!" she woofed. "No, I think you need to see her before I do," she said firmly.

Manny sat in camp and licked the one scratch he got when he fought Sherman.

Birch satstraight up."I'm fine." She growled, avoiding meeting the skinny black dogs piercing yellow gaze.

Manny walked over to Calamitypup and Brindlepup and sat down next to them, burying them in his floof.

"And so am I," Raksha said, an almost jokingly. "But you are our Alpha, and Breeze will treat you first."

Birch gave Raksha a level stare, but said no more. She shakily got to her paws, leaning on Flame.
(I relized I've been spelling and pernoucing Raksha's names wrong this whole time. I thought it was Rashka.Rash-ka. But it's Rak-Sha.)

Raksha nodded respectfully. She exhaled shakily as she realized how far she had pushed her bounds as a hunter.
(XDXDXD)

Squrrielflight appeared at the top of the slope after making sure ahollyshadow was cared for."Do you need help, Raksha?"

Raksha shrugged. Her vision was blurring slightly now; it took a few hesrtbeats for her to focus on Squirrelflight's form. She laughed. "Yeah, I probably do," she called. "Raksha, you're laughing. You definitely need help."

Squrrielflight raced down the slope, skidding to a halt beside Raksha."Careful, it's slippery." She warned.

Raksha casually slid her foot through the gritty soil and nodded in agreement. "Definitely slippery," she agreed. She shook her head and blinked a few times. "I am not well," she decided, as her current mood sunk into her subconscious.

Squrrielflight grabbed Raksha by the scruff."Dont move, I'm going to pull you up the hill."She ordered, digged her claws into the ground, making her way very slowly up the hill.

Raksha bit her tongue so she didn't make an even bigger fool of herself and let Squirrelflight drag her.

Squrrielflight managed to pull the Shedog up the slope,"Ok, then. Can you stand? I don't think I can drag you all the way back to the camp, it's still a little ways."

(What is happening to my alerts?)
Jade looked at her paw and cried "perhaps there is a way to save lives!" Her fur quivered like I don't know what quivers. Like a pigeon.

Raksha pulled her paws back under her, standing shakily. "Yeah, I can," she said, this time without the crazed tone. "I just need to sleep."

Squirrelflight let the black Shedog lean on her."Ok, There is a nest ready back at camp."

Raksha tried to walk a straight line, but that didn't really work, so she leaned on Squirrelflight to keep herself straight. "Yeah," she woofed distantly.
Autumn treaded water as she pulled up the rear, gently herding the weaker of the survivors onto heightened ground until they could stabilize by their own bearings. Doubling back into the surprisingly aggressive current to check one last time for any stragglers, she winced at her mind's titling for her pack. Survivors. There were so many missing that evened a tightened rank row couldn't fill the stark voids. She turned away from the Rip shoreline with something of a bitter moan, but her breath caught with barrage of internal jabs as she exhaled. Odd. I was barely injured.

~~~~~
Breeze slid up onto the bank, not bothering to shake her short pelt free of the brackish water droplets that clung to her like a darkened relative of the likewise clingy moonlight. She'd completely cut her mind off from the debilitating emotional pain; now her trained mind was running on complete autopilot, focused on only one firm goal that had to branch off a hundred different ways before reaching true achievement. She surged up the slope, nimbly avoiding the cascades of earth she loosened with every bound. She'd have to entrust the remaining stable dogs to assisting the weakened- she had to get to camp and prepare everything she needed before her patients arrived in one drove. I cannot get distracted...all the poultices are there in my paws...just keep thinking. You know it all. Be still. You'll have your wizened mentor, don't forget. She's still there for me.
Breeze fell immediately still.
She'd left Windsong behind.
With a frenzied bark of flammable guilt, Breeze pulled up her forelegs and threw herself back down into the sandy gully. She darted between the slowly progressing huddles, her ears perked forward to pick up her mother's unmistakable rasp before she was seen. She wouldn't leave her mother to the others, no matter how much she relied on her bloodless family.
Breeze quickened her pace after she still hadn't laid eyes nor nose on Windsong after a good hundred heartbeats. Concern slowly tricking down her spine, she slowly circulated around the farthest spread dogs and began a long canter back from where she'd started. "Windsong?" A long frown crept across her muzzle until it completely contorted into a horrified grimace of realization. Upon reaching the opposite corner of the beach, Breeze gave an earsplitting screech and took a wild leap into the water. "WINDSONG!"
(*le gasp* tis my child!)
(*fangiiiiiiiiiiiirls*)
Okay serious time
(Storm)
Antler's head snapped around abruptly. Someone had screamed.
(*blanks*)
He slowly, stiffly walked to the entrance of Rip pack's camp, every muscles in his body tense with concentration.
Again, he heard it.
"Well at least it's probably not a 'dont kill me' scream."
He pondered why a dog would be screaming this late after the battle. He guessed that it was from a river pack dog, likely a female based on the higher pitch of it.
He turned back into the camp. "What packs are still here?" He barked sharply.
Fog looked up blankly from where his paws worked deftly over a closing wound, his eyes barely registering Antler's irrelevant face. "Don't know," he grunted dryly as he bent down to seal the closure shut with a long licks to a plastered leaf. "Don't care."
(River)
Breeze inhaled a gulp of surprisingly stake air, and thrust her head underwater, her body dipping into the water and rebounding unevenly. She came back up, sputtering madly, and staggered back onto shore. The trees whirled into the sand and became a rippling midair stream of demented coloration. "Where is she?!" Breeze shrieked, turning completely white eyes, not on the living beings that stared at her with mild concern, but on the lifeless stars themselves. Her voice shook with unnerving lilts. "TELL ME WHERE SHE IS NOW."
Antler rolled his eyes. "Thanks, Fog," he growled.
(River)
Raksha turned back towards the desperate wailing behind her. Her eyes shifted back and forth as they struggled to focus, to pinpoint who was looking for who.
Vaguely, she made out the image of Breeze, still soaking wet, howling at the stars, and her heart rose into her throat.
"Oh no," she whispered.
Ivypup eerily materialized right against Antler's flank without a single telltale settle of a muscle or tendon- it was as though she'd been there all along. "It's got to be someone from River," she murmured in an hollow echo that would've involuntarily lifted the hackles on any pet dog or even hearted packer. "They're the only ones who actually crossed."
Hawk gently lay down whoever he was supporting, and bounded up alongside of Breeze. "Listen, wait, Breeze," he pleaded quietly, sloshing through the water so that he could face her directly and not lose her attention to the sky again. "Are you sure she...." His stone heart felt something of a light tapping from the outside as though some thing foreign wanted in. "...walked away from the battle in the first place?"
(*Realizes Breeze is my charrie and blanks on responding* XD)
Ivypup slowly raised her eyes so she could pin her unblinking black ones onto his. "I watched," she growled simply, still not giving an evidence that she performed other bodily motions besides the art of eye relocation.
