Inferno trotted into behind a few sand dunes and scraggly trees, out of the pack's earshot. "Listen carefully." he said. "We are going to rule the whole area. We won't have to live in this sandy, dry deserted place anymore."
"Really? How?" He asked excitedly.
Inferno smiled, knowing he had Cobalt's full attention. "There is a group of rebel wolves gathering. They call themselves the Howlers. I have joined them." he said.
"But I love living in packs..."
Inferno shook his head. "So do I. I will tell you my plan, but you must promise to tell no one."
"Okay, I promise. " He said.
Inferno smiled. "As I said, the Howlers want to overthrow the packs. Once they do, they will be so weak after the battle that Lava pack can easily wipe them out. Then, we can rule the entire area." he said proudly. "And, one more thing. I want you by my side, as Beta." Inferno said to Cobalt.

"Sounds hood to me." He said grinning. (Good night!)
Inferno smiled with pride. He had a Beta who would be loyal, and Cobalt knew how to fight as well as he did. "Perfect. The code is, 'A howler in the dark.' Remember," Inferno continued, "we will fight with the Howlers, but keep your heart loyal to Lava pack."
"Great, okay." Cobalt nodded.
