A Journey Through a Different Way - Funny Story Pg. 69

We got our newest addition to the farm today. A pair of Sebastopol geese from Pips&peeps (Jean). They are beautiful and tame and made themselves right at home in the large pen with the Nigerian Dwarf goats.

The goats came to check them out:

The dogs came to check them out:

Everyone agreed they could stay:

Now that it's Spring the Peacocks are starting to woo their loves - unfortunately they spend a lot of time wooing the chickens:

And when rejected - "Kiss My Butt"

The baby goats are getting big fast. BB had her horns removed by LSU vet school.

And finally my mama hen with her baby ducklings she hatched is still being the ever so protective mama. One of the babies got in the duck pool the other day and the mama hen circled it over and over yelping for it to get out but it didn't seem to pay any attention to her.

Those are my updates for today - our little farm is growing by leaps and bounds.

Oh, how confusing for a poor hen seeing 'her' babies in water, it must really scare her! I know she'll get over it, but instincts are very strong things, essential for survival, and she's convinced the babies will drown

Hey Girl thanks for those pic's they are priceless. Those geese look like they are having a bad hair day LOL. Love it. Goats are looking good and the dogs too.

Nothing much new here still trying not to fall on that knee but with the snow load we been getting it hasn't been easy LOL. Down to 1 Pomchi pup and 3 Sheltie pups left. These two litter sure have been fun. I have a litter of 4 Chihuahua's coming the end of the month. Man I just love these babies happy to see them come happy to see them leave to good homes.

Thanks again for the update been keeping you and yours in my Prayers.

I thought those geese looked like they were going to the Oscars!!! Oh wait, Oscars - bad hair day!!! Could be one of the same. ha ha ha

Monique...I think your peacock looks cool from the back too!!

This is my lucky day - hope that saying doesn't come back to haunt me. A local man just gave me two FREE pure-bred Great Pyrenees puppies - he had four that he said I could have but I picked out two - a little brother and sister.

They will soon go in with the goats, ducks and geese and begin their duty as true livestock guard dogs - no offense to Rex.

Those babies are adorable. You will absolutly fall in love with them.

Due to coyotes getting my chickens, I got my Great Pyr in September at 11 wks old. We had a rocky start. She was completely depressed about leaving her parents & siblings, growled at me when I got near her food, wouldn't listen to me at all, & trying to trim the 22 toe nails was unheard of! I thought I made a huge mistake. After a few "disagreements" with her about the prior mentioned problems & having to discipline her a couple times about the chickens she has turned into the best dog. At about 5 months old she even tried to tell me the house was catching fire before the fire alarms went off. The other 3 older dogs I have didn't do a thing. She now adores her chickens & goat & will stay at the barn & guard them when give her the command to stay.

Good Luck & Congratulations.

You have an amazing story here. I love the way you are raising your animals and such. I have a GSD that is 3 months old. We picked her up 3 days before our first chickies came in. I am working with her on watching them but not hurting them. Your Rex is a great inspiration!

Adorable! Loved reading through your story and seeing the pictures. The puppies are too cute and you will love Pyr's. They are not pure bred, however....looks like they might have been mixed with Anatolian, which is quite common with Pyrs. They will make great GSDs.
