Wow, A keet just hatch a couple of hours ago! I'm excited. I am incubating for a Mennonite neighbor, 5 guinea eggs and only 1 looked viable at day 14. She gave me 7 bantam eggs and only 1 looked somewhat viable. I let her know that most looked like a yolk sloshing around in the shell, but I left them all in.
Went to lock-down on Monday late afternoon. I'm going to leave her in the incubator until tomorrow early afternoon, then to brooder box w heat lamp. Unfortunately, we only have chick starter and chick grit. I cannot get to the store until Friday morning. Are keets like chicks as in they do not need to eat/drink for the first 1-2 days? I'm going to bed and check on her early.
