so, here's my situation: I've looked at incubators a little before, but never seriously, thinking: why would I want to pay $10 (or whatever) for a hatching egg, when I can buy chicks for $2.50?
This thread about Trader Joe's and others' fertile eggs hatching has really got me thinking. If I can hatch 6/12 eggs, for around $2.50/dozen, that's way better. Not that I need more chickens (can you have too many

), but actually, right now my son has a 5th grade science project due next month, and I thought this would make a really neat experiment, considering how much he already has learned about chickens, and enjoys them.
SO: the nuts and bolts of it is this: I was thinking of buying the Little Giant. I'm not the type that likes to buy multiple things on the way 'up' however, I like to get what's good, first off. So, Is there another step up from the Little Giant I would be satisfied with more? I can handle turning the eggs 3 times/day, that's no big deal. What do you hatchers say? thanks!
