A little confused

Wow, I'm thinking they could be a cross breed of some kind. They don't look like my buff orps at all....the coloring isn't buff. They're very pretty though. I think you've got a little rooster there....you may have something crossed with white leghorns......

I picked up six chicks at the feed store this year. They ordered from Ideal, I saw the invoice. Only three breeds came in - the others were shipped to the wrong address! So we got two of each: two gold sex links, two EEs, and two barred rocks. Here are pics of my "barred rocks":

I don't know if they would sell mutts, but I think orders can certainly get mixed up, especially when they are going to a feed store.

Maybe she's an easter egger - what colour are her feet? (BTW, I don't know if your chicken is a he or a she, I'm just being positive.)

There Sex-links

Sometimes (i know because it happened to me too) the feed stores will order kind of a "mystery pack" from the hatchery. The hatchery doesn't tell them what is enclosed, and the feed store assumes they're not crosses. I got sexlinks that were supposed to be a barred rock and a buff orp. They're definitely not that. Sometimes the feed stores assume they can identify better than they can, i think.

Hatcheries NEVER get it wrong

, especially to the feed stores

!!!

Out of 3 Light Brahma pullets, I got 1 pullet, 1 roo, and 1 white sultan
Out of 3 Sicilian Buttercups pullets (confirmed with hatchery that is what was sent, and obviously not) I got 3 BB-red Cubulaya Roos!

At least at the other feed store they flat out admitted they had no clue what was ordered, what they received or what sex they were...

Sounds like what im going though ive got this pretty buff chick that has black strips in her wing feathers and speckles on her tail feathers. If her colors stay the same she will be very pretty i think. Kind of looks like someone bred a BR to a buff orp and this was the result
