A little help here determining breed

    Hey everyone,

    Just wanting help determine the breed of my chicks are. Their hatch date was the 7th August.

    It's pretty hard to tell as they are in that scruffy stage with baby down and beginning feathers...so many breeds look similar at this point as the feathers look "goofy"....no longer the clear down pattern of day olds but not enough real feathers to show the breed pattern of adults.

    If I had to guess...I would say you've got either Welsummers (although should have yellow legs), Speckled Sussex, and possibly Partridge Rock with the top two bird types.

    The bottom bird looks to me to be a Red Star.

    Again it is hard for me personally to tell when they are in the half down half feather stage.

    Also, you might want to move your post to the "What Breed or Gender is This" forum...you would probably get better responses.
