Well, although I have joined in and started a few discussions, I guess I have yet to formally introduce myself as a new member. My name is Hillel and I am humbly residing in Fort Worth, Tx. I have a small backyard... well farm I guess. 8 hens: 2 BOs, 2 RIRs, a buff bantam Orpington (I believe), a SLW, a barred rock, and one that I haven't been able to accurately identify. Also, 10 Coturnix quail... And a Sun Conure who keeps every one in order. :)

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Yes, house parrots sure do keep everyone in line, don't they! Sounds like you a lovely flock of critters! I hope they continue to bring you great joy.

Make yourself at home here on BYC and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to the flock. How refreshing to hear from a new member with a dog that DIDN'T eat their chickens. You just made my day. Thank you sincerely.

Yes, my dog makes sure that the other wild neighborhood dogs don't try to break in and go after my girls. Many times I'll come in the backyard and find my hens gathered around taking naps along side my Dobbie. Blessed to have a dog that won't try and kill my girls :)

Welcome to BYC, Hillel! My wife and I grew up in Texas and I have relatives in Weatherford (not too far from Fort Worth). You have a nice mixed flock. If you post the one you can't identify, maybe we can ID it for you. Good luck with your flock.
