Need a little help please if at all possible at this young of age. Got these a couple weeks ago and not exactly sure of the breed and/or sex. Not that it really matters because they're keepers regardless but just so I know. If better pics are needed I'll do so first thing tomorrow. Lots of rain here in South Mississippi. Any and all opinions/educated guesses will be considered and appreciated. Thanks in advance. By the way, training has started and they LOVE playing games. 🐣🐥🐔🐓

Cute chicks! Little tricky with your photos and the lighting. They are too young to tell gender, but if you post some better photos, close up and profile so feather coloring and comb types can be seen, then forum members can probably guess the breeds! Stay dry. :)

Thanks jmns. I was afraid my pics weren't going to be clear enough. "IF" the rain holds out tomorrow I'm definitely getting better pics and possibly of all my newbies because the breeds weren't positively named. I'll reply to this thread tomorrow with better pics "IF" the rain takes a break.

The first one looks like a very fine and promising specimen. Unfortunately I don’t think we could help much with sexing chicks at this age. If they were a month younger or older I could’ve sexed them by looking at them. Most people think that male chicks roost a lot or have bigger combs. But thaws are usually not Reliable methods. The best way to tell is when they’re 1 week old. The females will develop Wing and tail feathers. At a significantly faster rate on average. That’s how I usually sex mine. And so far it worked on all my different breeds and subspecies.

Can you let me know if the second set of "better" pics are available please? It's pretty much the same chicks just much better lighting and positioning. And if you happen to know the breeds.
