A little sad today. Not chicken related but still........

I'm sorry Cheri, would it help to tell us a little bit about her?

She is my favorite Grandma. I always was around her. She is my mother's mother. She called me crazy yesterday because I told her she was beautiful. My cousin had been at her house for about an hour when my son walked in (the one in the Army), Grandma perked up and threw her arms up and hugged him. Susie was mad. (not really) She said well! I have been here for an hour and she hasn't said a word to me. Grandma likes them boys.

I would sit in her lap until I was 15 years old. She has 6 daughters, 1 son, all living. She has about 45 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and a few great-great grandchildren. We may get an accurate account this time.

My husband adores her and this is hurting him also. Oh and Im inheriting her cat. Mitzi will come live with me when Grandma passes on. Grandma had a good life and is ready to go home to Jesus. I will miss her singing.

That is what makes this easier somehow. Knowing where she is going and that we will all be re-united. Grandpa died in 1995 and my brother Charles did his funeral. He said that when God said "go forth and multiply, Libby and Roy took him at his word." LOL!

Well, my grandma is still her but she is so upbright about stuff she'll say "When I crock you get this and this" she's not goin n e time soon though

Ok I think we may have miscounted grandkids.

Aunt Carol- 5 kids
Aunt Jane- 4 kids (3 living 1 deceased)
Mom- 3 kids
Aunt Mary 5 kids ( 4 living 1 deceased)
Aunt Doris 2 kids
Uncle Roy 5 kids
Aunt Pam 1 kids

Ok so 25 grandkids.......Ok then it just may be 45 great-grandkids.

Um......lets see Grandma's grandkids range in age from 46 to 11. I am number 5 in grandkids and number 2 in granddaughters. Her great-grandkids run from 24 to 3 months old. The wierd thing is her mom died 17 years ago today. So we are hoping she hangs on for one or two more days. Mom says her kidneys are shutting down. They are so stressed.

Cheri,
May this poem by Henry Van Dyke give you some comfort:

Gone from My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side
spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and
starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty
and strength. I stand and watch her until at length
she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where
the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in
mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and
she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her
destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the
moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

And that is dying.

Cheri, you are on the seashore. Think of those on the other side and know how happy they (and she) will be to be together again.

Our prayers are with you.
