Chick drowned, waterer suggestions?

Do you use nipple waterers right away? I've found that I have to wait a few weeks to use my cup nipple waterer since they aren't strong enough at first to peck it hard enough to get water out. I also wonder if it is nipple type dependent.
I put it in right away. Ours aren't cups, just that metal "nipple" as I showed. They'll start pecking at it on their 2nd or 3rd day. I wait a few more days to be sure the majority appears to be drinking from it.

I'd guess one bottle for every 12-15 chicks is good. We've had 30 or so many times and put two bottles in.

And yes, three weeks or so before they can do the horizontal ones.

All of my chicks this year have learned to use the horizontal ones at 1 week old (the package said 1 week, so I just read the package 🤷‍♀️) they were fine and in this backbreaking heat and heatwaves, survived just fine. I'm thinking 1 week is probably okay.

the typical waterers are so gross and messy:

, I move to the horizontal ones asap. The vertical ones drip a LOT, so expect a puddle/wet spot under it.

I *love* the idea of a ramekin with marbles though -- I want to try that next time!

Though wait a second, this is awesome -- I didn't know what a canary waterer was:

LOVE this, the little bit with water can just slot in or you can just cable tie this to something. LOVE this idea too!!

I like these lil green ones that only have enough room for there head and cant poop in um ,but they can kick stuff in um. Once i take um out the box, i dip there beak and dont have to worry about finding dead chicks..4.50$ probably cheaper .

Those red ones work great for about the first week. I've found the first week they only drink the quart and it doesn't get too messy but after that and especially after the first 2 weeks it is always messy and dirty.
