Yay for you! Just be careful to watch and make sure they don't take a liking to their new-found living-space. I have a pullet who one day free-ranging, 'discovered' the goat's gate door (inside) so when I lock them up at night, I sometimes forget that she always roosts there. I walk in and get scared half to death because I don't notice her. I ask why she goes there, start to pick her up, and she growls and bites me.

Lovely. I pick her up anyway and drop her off with the flock, starting my epic head-count.

Every night.

But she's worth it. What a funny character she is. She COULD bunk in with the goats, them having a door that is 100% 'no-fingers'-predator-proof, but I feel more comfortable when the are all together. If you see this happening, discourage the behavior immediately.

By the way, EEs and crested birds? Good taste in funky chickens!

I would chicken wire the underneath, so they cant access it....mine had started to lay eggs under there, and I couldn't reach them. So, a little wiring helped......
