A Most Interesting Thing This Morning . . .

I wish I could have taken a video, but it happened so fast.

I had just stepped back from feeding the 10 chicks (5-ish weeks old) and tidying their brooder (which is by a window in our house) and the most interesting thing happened! They all got very quiet, stood tall on their legs, stretched their little necks as high as they could go, and looked out the window. I was very still and just watched. Then they all started a very low, quiet trilling, just standing as tall and still as you please! It was a sound I had not heard them make before. I just stood there quietly and after a moment, I heard a Mourning Dove cooing outside - it was very cool! The Mourning Dove flew away after a minute and the chicks went back about their business.

Not sure if this is a common thing, but thought I'd share ☺️.
