On May 3 I purchased 4 day old female chicks. When I received the box there were five chicks instead of four I called the hatchery and they couldn’t explain it, they just said to enjoy the free hen. I told them I would enjoy a free hen but not a free rooster . I have heard my cheeks with the pictures of what I ordered there are one or two of them that I can identify but there are other second night. I was going to post a picture of them along with the list of what I paid for, I would be grateful for any help

They must be older than day old chicks. I think they are all hens. If they were older when they sent them, it is easier to be sure.

Because they are bigger, they need a lot more space, and do not need a heat lamp (if you have one) and could go outside in their coop and run as soon as you want.

So they are almost 4 weeks old now(in the pics)?
Any males will start showing red combs soon if not already.
Need pics of the heads showing combs clearly.
Right now only one has a noticeable comb. So that is when I will know...when they get their combs

They were born May 1st so they are a month. Oh and boy oh boy do I know they are crowded. They only sleep in the spare bedroom at night. I keep them in a little area on the deck until I put them to bed. The only reason I haven’t done that is because my grandson (a carpenter) can’t be here until this weekend. And talk about a mess!!!. It is wearing me out

They are 4 weeks old. I tried to capture head shots of them. I don’t know if I got them all or not
