My grand daughter with Lucky
I am not a carpenter but couldn't afford to buy or have one built so I decided to build one and I think it will serve the purpose and also started on a tractor with left over lumber. I figured I could also use to put new chickens in for a couple of weeks to make sure I don't bring any illnesses into my flock. I just started with my first chickens and a couple ducks in March and am loving every minute of it. I found this site before I got chicken and really have learned allot from here. I used a truck tool box for my brooder and it works fine but they seem to grow out of it pretty quick. I have also built a coop that still has a couple things left to do as far as painting and the roofing on laying boxes. Every idea I got was from this site even though most I have seen looked a little more professional than mine, it works and like I said I have never built anything before so thanks for all the pictures and ideas from everyone that has posted their designs on here and I am going to post some pictures of the outcome of mine. Awesome site!!!
