Hi,

We just bought a new doe and she is having a very hard adjusting. She hasn't been eating much or drinking. Today I saw a white discharge hanging off her area.
She was just separated from her kids and is still in milk, but has been very tough to milk her, so I just didn't milk her today.

My questions are:

.What does the discharge indicates?
.Do I need to give her anything to assist her in eating and drinking more?
.Should I continue milking her?

Thanks!

My main concern with her (and the discharge) is that she could have a pyometra, or infection of the uterus. This can be life threatening if not treated. I would definitely try to take her temperature and I would call your vet to come chwck her out (sooner rather than later). Not eating/drinking is a sign of stress, and while that stress could be due to new surroundings, discharge is definitely not normal, which leads me to believe there is another reason why she is not eating or drinking.
