That Japanese hen is one lucky girl to have found you. Sounds like she is getting the best out of life right now, and that, to me, means she has great quality of life. Especially since she has a buddy that doesn't pick on her. I'm so happy you bought her and have been so kind.

Seems like we need a soft hearts rescue club around here!

No, they didn't roost together, but this morning we walked in on her staring at them through the cage. So, I decided that I'd monitor them in the old pen that we have outside and they did great! No fighting at all, Liz just made her new nest and the other two started to explore. When I came out later again with the dog, they actually ran to her for protection and jumped on top of her! It was so cute, and she didn't even mind. I actually got some pictures of them together earlier, and I'll post them soon.

Chickenaddict, that is a really heartwarming story. I concur, it is nice to know that there are more people who go above and beyond for their chickens too.

Liz is gorgeous - what beautiful feather colors she has. The other two look really cute too - like little "Liz Groupies" who want her autograph.

I think she's not so much mad at you as she is expecting royalties for the photo shoot. Raisins for every view the picture gets...
