A new Hobby Soap making Love it

I would say it was pretty thin. Just enough to say thickened. I'll get pictures. It looks ok. I saw pics of yours again and I think they are pretty similar. I guess the diff is yours is on a thin top where I poured mine into a slab and so the whole top is "honey-combed". More area for seeing imperfections.

I still have to post pics. Had to work last 2 nights and between getting kids ready for school, to school, me sleeping and then getting myself ready and to work.... Oh and feeding chickens, I just haven't had time.

Batch #3 done!!..... I know, I know I promised pics but it was take pics of first 2 or make a third sooooo......
Plan was to make a swirl with a light gray and pink scented with twilight woods. Got the in the pot swirl done and poured into the mold and just when I was done pouring realized I didn't smell a thing! DRATS!!! So, I poured it back out, mixed the scent and re-poured it. Luckily I had saved a bit of the pink for a swirl on top so I will end up with a gray bar with a pink swirl across the top. Not sure how anyone would feel about washing up with a gray bar of soap but it smells good!

I guess you gotta learn one way or another. And hopefully won't forget that again.

Moving on.... How would you go about making the soap balls that were in Julie's previous post? That is a cute idea but I couldn't decide how to do it.

I would just make a small batch of soap and in less than 24 hr i would unmold and cut little sections and roll into balls. I think I would let it set for a day or two and then try making up a soap batch and pour some add some ball pour more and add more like you want it. I dont know if I would gell. You could I do not think it would hurt at all. Look forward to seeing you soaps

I think there are two ways to go about making the balls. One way would be to make a normal cp batch and as soon as it is firm enough start rolling balls from the raw soap. Be very careful that the soap is still very caustic at this stage and make sure you wear gloves! The other option is to shred and melt some already made soap and shape those into balls. Either way should get you the look you want.
