Hi Evie, welcome to BYC. So sorry for this traumatic event! I have chickens, not ducks so i can't really answer your question except just to guess. How old is your duckling? Until you can get replacements for his buddies, it might help to provide him with a mirror and a stuffed animal. I don't think he will die in a week. @Isaac07 or @WVduckchick might have better answers. Good luck to you!

Thank you all of you! i Have pit a stuffed animal and a mirror in there. They were pretty bonded. My profile picture is one I took of them. Hopefully it will be ok. There were no feathers. Maybe he is stuck somewher!

My neighbors are 4H and FFA people so they get livestock. They had a single surviving duckling which they took inside to raise. She imprinted on her people and did just beautifully until they took her back outside to join the other ducks.

After that, ducks are so amazing, there never seems to be enemies among a flock of ducks and the hand raised ling was one of the girls.

IOW, they lived happily ever after.
