If you keep taking the eggs they will keep laying. Usually they won't start incubating their eggs until they lay a clutch first.

I didn't take the eggs. We had a big dog house in the pen with straw...she layed every other day till she had 10 eggs..she would lay her egg then push them in a pile and cover them up with the straw..it was when she started sitting. She would sit up till around 1 that day then get up and not go back till next day around 6.. She would roost on her pole at night...husband would see her when he went to work..thought maybe it was because of age and first time...after about 3 days she stayed on the nest...I had to take every thing out of dog house to get her to stop sitting month and a half later
