Alright so currently I have 2 chickens dolly and my favorite ,Drew. 2 baby guinea hens ,ninja and logan. A baby duck who believes he's a guinea hen, jazzy, and 4 other ducks angell, delilah, drake, and windou. Now with my baby boy drew who I hatched and hand raised. I wanted to show because he is such a pretty dominique. i went to the farm my school got the eggs from and saw his daddy and thought "wow drew fell way far from that tree!". Anyways I have NO idea where to start other than the fact that I have the entry forms and know the date. Yet when it comes to anything else I stare at the wall. If someone could possibly tell what I need and need to do, that would help a tun! I know I have to give him a bath and such but that wont be too hard since he loves the water (?). But for my silkie hen dolly well thats another story.

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. You'll want to bath him at least a couple of days before the show. This gives him time to get back his natural oils. Make sure nails are trimmed, we use a dremel tool. A little baby oil or vaseoline on the comb, wattles and legs give them a little gloss to them. If you are going to be doing a lot of showing, I suggest getting a copy of the Standard of Perfection book. It list all the breeds and their disqualifications for example an Australorp should not have any white feathers, if they are small just pull them out don't cut them. A good judge with know. Good luck. :thumbsup
