A new way to watch a chicken embryo grow( Starts 1/20/10)

pax12 - i worked near another lab in college in the early 80's that did tons of in vitro's. "dolly" wasn't the first by a long shot and it is quite common. if there is a university with an animal science repro phys prof, you should visit or call him/her. at least email him/her.

is there a video online showing a successful in vitro incubation and hatch?

It is awesome to see a young scientific mind.

I am going to try the Kordon breathing bag when I get eggs in early spring

This thread is very interesting. It would be very cool if the Kordon bag method worked!

@rocketdog312: I looked a bit, but although both petsmart and petco have other kordon aquarium products, they don't seem to carry the bags. They might special order for you, though, if you asked. Failing that, there are some decent deals on small amounts on ebay.

Try this site; it has one where you can do it in the egg, while still having a viewing space/thing.

here and here

You seem like an embryology person; maybe you could start bottling chicks at different stages in the game in formeldahyde, or like it suggests ^ up there.
