Early this morning I awoke with the rest of the world to watch the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Considering that I had to get up at 1 in the morning to watch the festivities, it was a big amount of effort. No one else in my family wanted to watch with me either, so I was alone, tired and sobbing from the joy of it all.

Who better to enter than my lovely little gosling, Nene?

He lives in the house with us until he gets a bit bigger, and he got his diaper strapped on, and watched the royal wedding with me.

It was so nice to have someone to snuggle with, and he was the perfect wedding watching partner. I bet he was one of the few geese in the world to actually watch the wedding as well. I found that to be quite a hoot.

I thought in the middle of this royal wedding that sort of... "renewed" my faith in the kindness of others, (and let me know that many people in this world care about the love people can share) it was very inspiring that it was not a human being who comforted me, but a baby goose.

To me, it reminds me that love is not limited by class, by race, or even by species. It reminded me that in a world dominated by people fighting and by wars and natural disastors there still can be peace amongst the common man. And by the common goose.

Congratulations to Prince William and Princess Catherine; May you love each other forever.
