My faithful little drake is an a-hole. He’s a wild Mallard (not protected in my country) that I raised after finding him as a day old baby in a busy road September 2023.
He’s not mean to me but he persecutes one of my geese mercilessly. Maybe she’s a gander? He was hand raised alongside my two geese and gets creepy with the other one so maybe that’s a girl.
He’s becoming insufferable and today I had to leave my desk (wfh) to rescue my goose. He quite literally shakes with rage half the time and it’s not even mating season yet!
What can I do?
If he was attacking me it would be easier to deal with. I love him so killing or getting rid of him is out. I got two runner hens recently hoping he’d refocus his attention. The irony is that the goose he’s bullying is four times his size, she is just doesn’t realise it.

Any ideas?
I agree, my mallard drake is a total jerk, with control issues. He bullies Me. I've even seen him bullie a baby bunny!

I'm mostly amused, but, when Jack thinks it's Go Time, and I'm not in the mood, I just snatch him up and toss him out of the yard. It doesn't cure anything. But you're not going to break the habits of a kept wild animal. (2yr old)

You could try pinning your Drake down in front of the goose when he gets fires up. It might show the animals who is the real leader. Pin him down and hold tight until he stops struggling. G'LUCK

I did pin him many times in front of the goose and in the middle of him attacking the goose (so he would know why), but it had no effect. He can’t help himself. They are now separated by a fence and while the duck is furious, my goose is much happier.
