I've previously hatched quail about almost two years ago with the use of a chickbator dome incubator. It was more for fun, but as I went throughout the process of manually turning the eggs and monitoring the temperatue. It bacame a passion and I loved it. I had 4 corturnix quail eggs and I mothered them. I had two successful hatches, a runt, and a dud. but unfortunately at the time I had a dog and a little sibling that inadvertently allowed the dog to basically "play" with the birds..
Moving past that I am on a mission. I want to hatch quail again and I have just finished the perfect project. A DIY quail egg incubator.
Basically the design can be followed here: http://urbanext.illinois.edu/eggs/res20-incubator.html
Pictures up soon.
So far, my temperature seems to be staying between 98 and 101. This is an excellent project except I am in need of eggs to incubate. If anyone could help me, or give me any tips for the DIY incubator please, do tell.
