So today I was going to mist my duck egg and I saw something odd on the shell so I took it off using a paper towel but as I did that, it took a little piece of shell too. It didn't go all the way through, there is still a film like thing underneath but should I take action and if so, how?

Could you post a picture? If its a crack I would either put some candle wax over it or put a piece of tape over the hole to prevent premature drying out of the membrane.
Its not a small crack but here is a pic
Its pretty bad but its near the air cell.

I think I would put a piece of tape over the hole and hope for the best, since the hole is so big I don't know if the candle wax would drip into the egg. Basically you want to seal up the hole, so the membrane doesn't dry out.

Is it ok if I also misted around the hole?
