Ever seen a pile of Polish? These little guys are only 6 weeks old and love laying under a tree in the afternoon napping. There are 7 laying in this pile, but only three would pose for photos for me. Can you tell me their gender?

The first is Nugent (Ted, of course) and I'm pretty sure he's a little roo. #2 is Chip and again I think he's a roo. #3 is solid black and named Fonzi. I'm hoping I'm going to get to change his name to something more feminine like Whoopi

Well, I was guessing their gender by their hair-dos! #1 & #2's head feathers are rather wild looking, whereas #3's is more rounded and smooth. Gee.. it'd be awesome if they were all pullets, but that's not how my luck's been going lately! I can't seem to hatch anything but little roos this year!

So far, it looks like all pullets. You'll really be able to tell when you see red faces, though, especially in the next few weeks. Pullets will begin to get red faces and wattles around the time when they start to lay.

Well, I am new to polish and these little guys have me totally intrigued. Their looks just keep changing and so does their personalities. I posted a couple weeks ago that I did not like my polish and they didn't like me either.

I seriously considered giving them all away.

Now they all want to sit in my lap and on my shoulders! I am so in love with these chickens. I just hope that I have a nice ratio of male to female so I can keep them all.

I'll have to see if I can get photos of the rest of them so you can sex them for me.

I do have an older pair which I bought at 3 months of age. It appears I have both a male and female in that pen. Of course I could be wrong!

OK.... I managed to get photos of the other 4 polish chicks. If the first three I posted in the original post are all pullets... what do you think these are? These I believe are all pullets except maybe the first? This chick has never had much of a poof. The second chick is one of the homeliest polish chicks I've ever seen. Hopefully she'll outgrow some of her ugly. I initially thought she might be a little roo, but have changed my mind. The third I am pretty sure is a pullet. The last chick's photo is not very clear, but will give you an idea of the shape of her poofy head! She does not like her photo taken!

still looks loke more pullets to me. Sometmes even the pullets take time with the poof. I have a golden that had a mohawk when she was small. I thought it might be a roo but it was a pullet. When I first got into polish chickens someone told me that by 3-4 months you should see red in the middle of the nose if its a cockerel. I still do not see any red on yours. JMHO

If I have 7 more little pullets, I'm gonna have a very happy roo

This is my older pair. I'm told I have a male and a female? The second photo is supposedly my roo. These two fight all the time!
