Hey i am hopefully going to get a chick from one of my friends tomorrow !!

I would suggest lightly dipping its beak in water and then the food. Or taking the food and sprinkling it on the floor of the cage. This is just what I have done. Definitely putting a chick with it will help it learn to eat. Good luck
