Chilli came to our house for a sleepover today. It's the first time Singe has met one of his puppies and they got along great. Singe is fascinated! After 4 hours, they are both crashed and snoring.

come on Dad, let's play!

catch me if you can!

Let's go home...

That is so cute!
Our german shepherd pup is about the same size as that one, my sisters kids played with him at Easter and told her that they want to get a shepherd puppy. I mentioned that he is only 5 months and will be about 100 pounds of dog when he is grown...
I am in need of a little advice on our pup. He is very nippy. I need to get him to calm down and let me trim his toenails. Any advice on calming him down?
Here he is at 12 weeks... he fills that bed now.

start by doing just one nail (or just handling his foot if he is really hyper) and giving him a reward. having someone slowly feed him a treat while you work on his feet can also help.
once he is good with doing 1 nail at a time, do 2 nails before you reward him..

have you been working on bite inhibition with him to curb the nipping?

I have been trying to work with him, but my stupid husband insists on wrestling with him every night. The pup seems to think that if you are touching him you want to wrestle. He still nips, but not very hard and he is getting better. Thankfully, he only nips on us, he is very good with everyone else. He has lost 3 of his puppy canines this week, once those little sharp needles are gone, I think it will be better. I have been working on handling his feet, he doesn't like it at all. I would like to be able to use the grinder rather than the toenail clippers, with his black toenails, I am nervous of trying to clip them; grinding seems easier if I can get him to tolerate it.

I love the dremel. SOOOO much easier than clipping. it's entirely possible to have a dog who knows that it's ok to wrestle and nip with one person and not everyone else. So don't despair :)

cute!! singe is a beautiful dog...do you have the mom too? I just got a Dutch Shepherd puppy...this is my first shepherd, and i am constantly amazed (in the few days i've had him) how smart they are! He already knows sit. quickly goes to the bathroom when taken out, tries not to pee in the house, and follows me/comes when called...this is also my first little puppy from a breeder...all my other dogs have been rescues over 6 months old...he is so cute!! as you can see, i'm in love. :p

Getting a pup from a breeder is so different than getting a more mature dog from a rescue. At our house, we find that a puppy bonds so much better with their people when little. This little Gus of ours is so attached to us, he whines if we are in separate rooms and he can't lay down and nap with BOTH of us present. He always wants the other dog to come out of the yard with us, but the setter is a runner and has no recall so he can't be let out without a leash. The setter is a rescue - he loves us and is bonded to us, but it is a different bond.
Here are my knot-heads.

Picture of puppy please!

@dainerra Sorry to hijack your thread.
I believe I have seen many pictures of Singe on here, he is so beautiful! He looks like the other female that the breeders had, but all they had left of her pups were female and DH wanted a Male.

yes it is! he is already following me everywhere and watching me 24/7 (when he's not sleeping of course). The rescues have always taken longer to trust me most of the time (i do usually get abused or problem ones, but the ones that were happy go lucky still took longer). Your dogs are beautiful!
Here is my sweet little boy! Btw, do you have any name suggestions? We were considering Apache, Tank, Clipper, Thunder, Pax, Cainen, or Frisco...got any ideas/input?
