Okay, OldGal and I are about to expand our chicken ranch into ducks. I have a bunch of questions on a variety of topics. Do you prefer that I post them all as one topic or should I start a separate thread for each one?

Whoop! Misspelled separate in the poll. Can't find anyway to edit it. Sorry, but you get the idea.

I actually find that folks respond to questions more readily if they are not too long. Maybe you could group the questions into a few threads like one on housing, one on nutrition etc. for instance.

Duck owners will often specifically take a look at duck threads when they come to BYC so responses will keep coming over the days as they log on to the site.

Break them up into groups, like housing, feeding, incubation. When you ask questions let us know where you live, as that can impact the answer given. Tell us what you want in a duck flock. Small, large, flying, non flying, lots of eggs, or just fun to have around. This help others answer about breeds, care, and other things from personal experience.

Welcome to the duck section. I say separate. Because everyone will go into more detail for you.But whatever you like. Dont worry the grammer police arent TOO bad on here thank God.

I loved your topic title!

Seems to me that the fact that you are asking is an encouragement for the rest of us, by the way, and if you want to post one laundry list, that's been done, often, and I have yet to see anyone complain about that. Those can get pretty thick with all sorts of information in a hurry.

Then again, sometimes even a couple of questions can start a discussion that goes all over the place, with bonus answers for questions not yet asked.

You are more likely to get an answer to every question if you post each question separately.

Also, that will help people in the future who are trying to use the search feature to find answers to their own question.

I like separate threads so that future readers can search more easily for information pertinent to their needs, and not have to wade through a bunch of extra stuff.
