When you walk outside to your poultry with a feed bucket in hand (or sometimes not even with a feed bucket).........do they come runnning/flapping/honking at you like possessed beasts? as if they are so starvingly hungry they just have to be the first to get to you? (even if you'd only been out an hour before to feed them)

YES! A visitor would think that I've been starving them by the way they act. In the morning, the turkeys and chickens swarm all around my feet, I can barely walk! A couple of the bantams will actually ride on the bucket and eat out of it as I walk.

And throughout the day, if I walk outside holding ANYTHING....food, paintbrush, cardboard box, whatever, they come running from all directions to beg. My dogs don't come to me the way these birds do.

Yes and when I bent/sit down they jump up to sit on me. When I walk to their bowls with food they run ahead of me. Too cute!

I just say duck's and my ducks an d hens come sprinting. I used to say it and walk in the run and toss them grain to herd them up after free ranging but quickly realized there was no need to do the grain tossing. Its summertime here in nh so I cut back my feedings and use alot of foraging
