If you let two week old chicks out will the roo be mean to them?
Just wondering. I don't have any chicks yet.

I guess that is a $100 question. it also depends on the roo. I have a huge RIR roo that I let my little's out with all the time and so far so good! Goober is a big softy though. My 4 year old daughter can pick him up so, yeah it depends on the roo.

I would say it depends on the roo.

My big buff orpington roo ended up in the chick side of the coop, we still have NO idea how, when I first put the last batch of chicks out.

I went up to put gas in the generator, due to a cold night to keep the heat lights running, and there was big old Brutus, asleep in the pine shavings, little chicks all snuggled up around him.

He gave me a look like, if you ever mention this to anyone...

Good luck, keep a close eye on them -

My Hawkeye (Barred Rock) was always very gentle with the little ones. I used to call him The Babysitter. He was even sweet to the older pullet chicks, not even trying to mate them till they were full grown. I sure miss him.

My rooster Conway doesnt care for any of the chicks except his honeys. he isnt really mean to them per se, but once in a while he will run them off or even peck them if they dont move fast enough. the adult girls do it too though.

my adults, the teenyboppers, and the babies all stay to their own little cliques unless there is chicken scratch involved.
