Can a hen change the color of her eggs?

I have two layers right now. One lays a nice brown egg, the other a tan egg. My Buff Orpingtons are still too young to lay. only 14 weeks old. Yesterday there was a beige egg in the nest. Couldn't have been one of my Buffys. Could it? Their combs are not even colored up yet, although getting there.

I guess I'll know for sure if three eggs show up.

I think the egg coloring can change as the chicken ages, but I guess it could be the BO

I know my ameraucanas start out with really nice deep colored eggs but as the year progresses the color gets lighter and lighter. So yes, the egg color can change as the chicken goes through her laying cycle.
