a red silkie??

[Sonoran Silkies]

If you google "Silkies in Color" you should come up with Inga Ladd's site & should be able to find photos showing red and buff side by side. They really look nothing alike; I hatched a ginger red cockerel last year--I kept wondering WHAT colour he/she was. The colour is stunningly different & beautiful. Unfortunately due to other traits he is only pet quality. I'll try to find a photo.

Here is my DD's Pet Red Silkie. She bought him from a friend and adores him. You know how it goes, he was supposed to be a she and I figured she could at least be a broody but we would never breed her. Sigh. Well, we let him have a few adorable Sizzles but wont make a habit of it. Lil'Stinker!!

Why do you say there is no such thing?
I've had them and they were red and bred true.
My buffs never produced anything near that color and my reds never produced anything that looked buff.

Mypetchicken gets all their chicks from other hatcheries...If you ordered red silkies, they'd come from either Ideal, Meyers, or Rochester.
