Found in the Splits' coop in the straw.

I can't be SURE that it came from Lickety or Second. It's the same color as Popcorn's eggs and she lays smaller eggs (and might be expected to lay wonky eggs as she starts to molt), but Popcorn *usually* has extra calcium deposits on her eggs.

Here are pictures of today's suspect and of the weirdly pointy one from the other day:

The small, dirty one is at the top of this photo:

This angle shows the size better -- Chipotle's white eggs are a consistent Large:

And the two suspects together:

That's what I'm wondering. The Splits are about 22 weeks now and at least one has a pelvic check of better than 2 fingers.

They're half SLW and half Lavender Orpington so I know to expect some shade of brown but not what shade.
Light, to cream is what the cross will give you with egg color.

I'm thinking it's one of your younger pullets.

Orpingtons also lay that color, so being a mix of both, will result in no real change in egg color.

And at the end of their laying cycle pre-molt, my Australorps' mid-brown eggs are paler than they were before. So I can't tell by counting the pinky-tan eggs either.

At this point the only ones I'm sure of are the white ones from Chipotle (California White), and the odd, round, speckled eggs from Dumpling (Light Brahma).

Maybe you can try, catch whoever laid it?

My bird's eggs don't go through a change before molt, except a drop in production. Only got 10 eggs yesterday.
