Hello from another Ohioan! I got my first flock in 2014, and raised them from day-old chicks. I've never had more than six at a time. My current flock consists of Don Williams, a golden buff rooster, and four hens: Auntie Whispers (welsummer), Lorna (golden buff), Beatrice (golden buff) and Sister Monica Joan (golden buff).
Recently, Sister Monica Joan hatched one of Auntie Whispers' eggs. The chick is 6 weeks old at this writing, and I have yet to determine its sex. It's name is Sonny if it's a cockerel or Sunny if a pullet.
I hope to learn some new tricks and ideas here and look forward to being able to call upon this community in the many moments when I find myself totally lost. Hopefully, I can contribute something from my own experiences to help someone else.
Thanks for reading!
