This is the oil rig that went up last week.....should be up for 30 days of drilling!
 
Very cool, thanks for taking all the pics. It's amazing how different out 2 areas are. Here it mainly marshy areas and rivers, lots of trees.

Maybe we should get folks from all over to post pics of their surrounding areas?

and it looks alot like where I live. My DM always wanted to live in Montana, now I can understand why.

Coldest winter I've lived through, it go down to -40. Usually at our house (down in a river valley) gets at least a few bitter cold days of -30 every winter. The Gaylord-Vanderbilt-Indian River-Pellston area usually is about 10-15 degrees colder, known as the "coldest spot east of the Mississippi."

Last winter we had several weeks of -45F, but over all it was not as cold as the winter before....the river never completely froze this last year....not go for ice fishing!
 
The wind can be devistating at times!!! Definately learned to anchor everything, including the coop, at least 3 foot in the ground!
