A stranger came to visit a friend, Owner found and didn't want them

I'll let him know thank you. He needs to check with those around him because he's leaving town tomorrow for a funeral in CA and is driving with his family. He asked me to bring it over here and I said no I don't have a place to keep it. I'm not sure who he asked to take care of his birds and all, a nephew of his was killed yesterday morning in CA, playing with a loaded gun in a car while driving!

It is indeed a Reeves pheasant and there are two of them, a male and female pair. One of Tony's neighbors was given the birds this morning by a friend of their's who is moving and couldn't take them. The fellow didn't know they could fly over a 4 foot fence??? Anyway, the female didn't follow the male and the guy was walking around looking for the male a little while ago and Tony's son saw him. The guy asked Tony of he wanted them since he has an enclosed pen and Tony said yes so he now has a pair of beautiful birds. That he knows nothing about so his daughter, our librarian is going to research them for him. He is one of my friends that has peacocks that multiply faster than rabbits so he eats the eggs. LOL, what a character!

Wow! You're so lucky! I could handle a deal or two like that...

I love reeves. When I first got mine home I had 2 pair. One pair busted out of the box and flew away. It was so pretty watching the male fly away with his long tail. I know that they are introduced to some parts of the US. Back in the 80's they tried to get them started here in Eastern Washington but I dont think it took off. They have feral populations all over. If you go to wikipedia they say what countries they are in. Also if you go to GBWF they have a whole page on them.

SCORE! man, so people have all the luck. GORGEOUS birds. I was at an auction in the fall, they sold for $180/pr
nice- would love some better pictures... please?
