A Terrible Case of "The Pasties"

My Speckled Sussex chick appears to have "pasty" or "plug" butt quite a bit more often than her siblings. I have tried using a wet towel to soften the poo but it stays solid and gains build up, I have also applied Vaseline. Is there anything else that I can do?

My crested polish came to me in a terrible state from having her pasted butt ripped off causing scabbing and a half dollar size patch of no feathers. I used warm wet washcloth to clean her (basically held her sitting on it for a good five minutes) and qtips to vaseline (only dip it in the ointment once and apply,then use the other end or more qtips as vaseline will hold bacteria) her twice sometimes three times a day until she was healed. I didnt have to use the blueing on her skin because its not pink, but that might be a concern of yours if the other girls notice her bare bum.
