A thought for merchandise

This is a great idea. With all the BYC "tags" that you can find in the merchandise area do you feel if a general question was posted to all members requesting merchandise wish list and maybe a price range that members would pay for an item could be authorized by BYC staff? I would be interested in assisting with this research to expand the product line.

General input from all members would be great.

I think the mugs would be an outstanding idea. The going rate that I have found on eBay is around $ 5-$6 for a one color mug.

Of course the full colored mugs that look great run around $7.00-$9.00 Do you think members would pay that much?

I would also like to see ball caps, pens, mouse pads,

Another idea is printing chicken magnets of our chickens. Any others feel the same way?

Their are merchandising companies who deal with, fountain pens, coffee mugs, calendars....we call them trinkets and trash companies. I'm sure you could find one representative to do all....100% can be done on the computer....

I haven't read the whole thread, so maybe this has been mentioned... MPC has some decals (white on transparent background) -- "spoiled chickens lay better eggs", "I love my ____", etc. I'd love to buy them here rather than trying to find a way around the shipping cost from MPC (the estimate was almost as much as the decal

I think there should be a contest for the calender pics. Not everyone submits pics for POW even though they may have some really awesome ones...not to mention, we have all spent a week looking at those already. As long as there are very specific rules a contest could go very well. You could limit it to one submission per member, only allow pics that have not been posted on here previously, have a strict cut-off date for submissions, etc. I think it would be lots of fun!!!

I know that Zazzle has where you can have things made and sell through them. I had a hat made for a friend for Christmas with his Pontoon boat photo on it and my caption. He loved it. That could cut way down on you having to deal with the merchandise and offer more things to your/us customers.
I would like to see some of the quart mason jars with the Chillin with my Peeps logo on the side. I use them for drinking glasses some times as well as storage. A Drinking glass that can take a lid is great during summer to keep bees and knats out of your drinks and you don't spill it if they get knocked over.
I think the monthly contest is a good idea, a forum I visit a lot (Stovebolt) for old Chevy trucks does it and at the end of the year the monthly winners are on the calendars. They do have several calendars for different size trucks IE: maybe different calendars for Standards, Giants, Bantams and Big game..Just a thought, I know I buy one for me and some for gifts each year, I would do the same for a Chicken calendar too. I have several chicken friends on my gift list. They get a gift I know they will use and love and I don't have to search all over for it and I don't have to spend a fortune. One even got a Chillin with my peeps T-shirt this year...would of been two but I kept the other one for me...

Forgot to mention that anyone who searches the net for this type merchandise and finds you on the site can buy from you also...(your image on their choice of merchandise). I have not looked into it only read it on their information email they sent me via email after I had the hat made. Only one email, no spam or emails after the one. That is why I mention them. I hate a business who spams or sends tons of emails trying to sell me stuff I don't want.
