A Tiny Coop on the Edge of Town

We just got our first chicks a week ago. We have 5, soon to be six and maybe a goose or a dunk or some guineas (1-2-or-3, not sure yet). We have 1 barred rock, 2 Ameraucana, 1 Rhode Island Red, and 1 Silver Wyandotte. We lost one of our Ameraucanas (she was a week old) and we'll be replacing her later this weekend. I want three of them. I'm new to raising chickens. I am looking forward to fresh eggs and my bf is looking forward to less bugs.

I read a lot and write fiction and short stories. I love walking and horseback riding. I enjoy all things art. We're a family of two, no kids. We have two dogs. A chicken killer named Bernie and a 20 week GSD named Creed. We also have cats.

When we got chickens, we stumbled on the site via Google.
