A usually friendly Blue Andulusion hen has started attacking me!

First glance, I would say rooster. I've had some roosters hide themselves very well when afraid of a more dominant rooster in the flock.

But regardless, don't take any BS from those feathery babies! I usually squirt them with the hose or smack their butts when they're misbehaving. They're not really fond of either and will go sulk somewhere. Once I even took off my shoe and threatened an aggressive rooster that was getting a little too close while I was collecting eggs :p

This is kind of a weird thing, but it works for me. The aggressive chicken, gender doesn't matter, I take for a grand tour around the farm. I tuck the bird under my arm and walk around the farm like that. I take into houses, I let the dogs sniff him, then I take the chicken back to the coop and set them in the exact spot in the run that I got him from. Believe it or not, it gets a chicken thinking...
